First World War Commemorations ... ! x

Hello, its been a while but I have some exciting news to tell you about!

I am going to be involved in Kidderminster Arts Festival which this year is commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the First World War!

Do you remember the poppies I made for Remembrance Sunday last year, the idea is that we make 661 poppies to commemorate each of the soldiers that lost their lives during the first world war.

So ... KAF needs your wool!!

We will making poppies to include in a large scale art work as part of the World War One Commemorations.
We need Red and Green wool, along with small black buttons, no matter how little you have it will all be useful.

We are also looking for volunteers who can knit or crochet to be involved in this project,
do as much or as little as you like.
For more information email arts@wyreforestdc.gov.uk or call 01562 732 977

If you are local to Kidderminster ...

Or at any of our supporting venues: the cafe at Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way,
The Boars Head pub Worcester Street Kidderminster,
Severn Stitches – Lombard Street. Stourport. St Peters Church Hall Birchen Coppice
If you would like to send wool & buttons to me please message me at Melliemoo_xx@yahoo.co.uk.
We are still waiting to hear about funding ...
but either way it would be great to make poppies and create an installation in the memory of the soldiers.
I will keep you upto date with progress!!
bye, bye for now!!
